USCAH Becomes Game Plan’s Insights Expert on Athlete Healthcare

Partnership expands Game Plan’s Expert Network into the national student-athlete training and wellness community.

COLUMBUS, Ohio and GREENVILLE, N.C. (April 14, 2022) - Game Plan, the leader in total athlete development, today announced that the U.S. Council for Athletes’ Health (USCAH) has become the presenting sponsor of its newest eLearning course, Athlete Health Basics.  As the recognized expert in athlete wellness and safety, USCAH will provide valuable content designed to keep student-athletes physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy on and off the field.

Athlete Health Basics presented by USCAH features six on-demand modules launching on Game Plan’s app today. Key topics will include sleep, mental and physical recovery techniques, personal healthcare advocacy, nutrition and hydration, and sportsmanship.

“Game Plan’s innovative education platform gives us an entirely new way to deliver this critical information to athletes when and where they need it,” Dr. James Borchers, USCAH President and CEO, said.  “Game Plan’s understanding of student-athletes is unequaled, which is why it’s such a valuable channel for reaching them on their own terms.”

Consulting on all aspects of athlete healthcare since 2017, USCAH has quickly become trusted by athletics departments and sporting organizations of all types and sizes due to its medical expertise and unbiased viewpoints. Its partners on the college level also include 11 NCAA conferences, the NJCAA, and the NAIA.

“We look forward to exploring new opportunities with the more than 350 athletics organizations already partnered with Game Plan,” Borchers said, who also serves as Chief Medical Officer of the Big Ten Conference.

Athlete Health Basics presented by USCAH will be part of Game Plan’s Expert Network feature.  Provided to all athletics organizations with a Game Plan subscription, Expert Network is a collection of custom content from leading subject-matter specialists.  It is available to athletes on-demand outside of their assigned eLearning coursework.

Game Plan CEO Vin McCaffrey is excited about adding USCAH’s healthcare expertise to the platform’s ever-expanding knowledge base.  “USCAH is such a natural fit as our Insights Expert here, especially given our similar missions around education and the welfare of the athlete.  We’re now even better positioned to keep student-athletes safe while helping them thrive.”
