North Coast Athletic Conference Partners With USCAH

COLUMBUS, OH and CLEVELAND, OH – The North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) is partnering with the U.S. Council for Athletes’ Heath (USCAH) for the 2022-23 academic year to offer conference members access to integrated education and assessment resources to optimize student-athlete healthcare. The partnership went into effect on July 1, 2022.
“We are thrilled to enter into this partnership with the US Council for Athletes' Health,” said NCAC Executive Director Keri Alexander Luchowski. “These resources will assist our members as they promote and enhance our culture of safety for our student-athletes, coaches, administrators and communities.”

NCAC member institutions will have opportunities to utilize Athletics Healthspace, a USCAH developed e-learning platform dedicated to critical and timely athlete health and safety topics for student-athletes, coaches and athletic department staff. Education programs include Preventing and Preparing for Catastrophic Injuries in Sport, Mental Health, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Sports.

The easy to use educational modules will allow NCAC institutions to track and meet educational requirements and will provide third-party assessments to confirm NCAA standards around student-athlete safety and welfare are met.

“We are excited to partner with the NCAC and their member institutions to collaborate in this partnership to emphasize and prioritize athlete health, safety and well-being,” said USCAH President & CEO James R. Borchers, MD, MPH. “We look forward to a long relationship that will benefit constituents for the conference in their institutions.”

The partnership also includes access to the membership platform, Athletics Healthcare Administrator Association (AHAA). The service is specifically designed to provide athletic healthcare administrators the ability to connect with a virtual community that offers peer and expert insights and discussions, real-time industry news and updates, webinars, as well as additional content focused on best practices in healthcare.
